Lick

Mmm, mmm, doesn’t this frozen yogurt shop in Brighton, England look oh so tasty? The logo, the minimalism, the doodles on the window, everything about Lick is working for me. I’d want to hang out here just to see the space — the natural frozen yogurt (or yoghurt) would be an added bonus. Did you notice the honey dipper? That’s delightful.

Feel Good Friday: Mmm…Pizzzzzza!

Pizza is one of my favorite foods, but everyone loves pizza, right? I made my first pizza dough from scratch last Friday night and plan to continue the tradition this week. Last week I made Smitten Kitchen’s Really Simple Homemade Pizza and I couldn’t get over how good it was. The crust was fluffy, chewy, and hearty with a fantastic yeasty wheat flavor. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. So for tonight, I’m trying the White Whole Wheat Pizza Dough recipe from one of my all-time favorite food blogs, 101 Cookbooks. This recipe required me to make it the night before, so you have to plan for your pizza, which makes it all the more exciting when it’s actually time to make.

Update: Here’s how it turned out! It was fantastic!

The End of My Vegan Challenge

Well that’s it. My vegan challenge has officially ended. It actually ended last week when my boyfriend told me he brought me Belgium chocolate back from his trip from Germany. My resistance couldn’t hold up to that.

So even though I’m not strictly vegan right now, I’ve still been cutting back a lot on dairy. For now, I’m happy with that.

Vegan Challenge: Day 8?

Well, today is Day 8 of my one-week vegan challenge. I’ve decided to keep going for another week. It’s been lot more manageable than I had anticipated, and I’m still feeling great doing it. For my boyfriend’s birthday dinner, we went to a great Thai place in Orlando, Sea Thai, and the four vegan challengers there all agreed that it was our favorite vegan meal by far. Yes, I still miss cheese and would like to eat some right now actually, but I’m postponing that for later.

A Perfect Valentine’s

I had the time of my life a couple of summer’s ago in Paris, biking through the Latin Quarter on a sunny afternoon. This fun illustration is the perfect memento. And oh my god, this frozen pink cheesecake is making me drool over here. Followed by my favorite romantic movie, You’ve Got Mail. Don’t you think daisies are the friendliest flower?
